About the course:
Most accidents involving abrasive wheels are caused either because the wrong type of abrasive wheel is being used and /or the abrasive wheel being used has been incorrectly fitted.
The use of abrasive wheels has been the subject of much case law and specific legislation over the years, and is now covered by the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998, and British Standards. The delegates will be given a brief overview of how legislation covering abrasive wheels has developed in recent years.
This classroom-based course is designed to enable delegates to recognise the hazards associated with the use of abrasive wheels, and how to control them whilst complying with current legislation.
The Course Content:
The course is delivered by means of a combination of tutor – led and “learner centred” training, with a “hands – on” module.
